Music Instruction

A note about music from Dr. Rebecca Whited, our Music Director...

CHOIR  - Initially, we will combine the voices of all our singers at St George.  Our goal will be to grow into more age appropriate ensembles.  In addition to learning songs, we will also learn healthy singing technique, music theory, and some music history.

Voice for Life, a program within the Royal School of Church Music is:

A structured guide to vocal training

        • Based on graded targets with informal assessment

        • Designed for use in schools, churches, and other community choirs

         • Easy to use with a clear layout

The graded targets consist of instruction, experience, and informal assessment of musical skills and theory.  The Light Blue and Dark Blue levels prepare the chorister for the Bronze award, Red helps the candidate prepare for the Silver award, and Yellow helps the candidate prepare for the Gold award.
