Meet The Team

Sarah Nuss has a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and taught in the classroom for several years. She has been homeschooling her children for 9 years.

 

Sarah is a formally trained artist who has taught children and adult art lessons for over a decade. She will offer private art lessons for both adults and children at St. George Learning Center.

Sarah lives with her family on a 20 acre farm where they raise American Dairy Goat Registered Nigerian Dwarf Goats. Sarah enjoys gardening, reading, and farm life.

Jennifer Butler has a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Alabama MAP program with a triple certification in Early Childhood (K), Elementary, and Special Education.

 

She returned to the MAP program to earn her Master's Degree in collaborative special education.

 

Jennifer taught in the classroom for over a decade, and now homeschools her 3 children.

She enjoys playing the clarinet and the violin, leading American Heritage Girls, and watching her kids play sports. 

Jennifer will offer private music lessons in beginner clarinet and violin.

Mikyla Clark

History and English/Lit Instructor for Upper School

Mikyla Clark teaches piano, guitar, ukulele, voice, general music education classes, and directs a Catholic children's choir.  She teaches piano to students of all ages at Colors Fine Arts Center.

 

 In 2019, she graduated from the University of Alabama Huntsville with a bachelor's degree in Choral Music Education.  In 2019, she also earned her Alabama teacher's certification during a music educator internship with Mt. Carmel elementary school and James Clemens high school. 

 

Mikyla has taught writing, history, general music class, and choir at Catholic co-ops, including Catholic Schoolhouse and Catholic Classical Collaborative. 

 

She began learning piano at age six and has studied piano under the instruction of Melody Ng, Ingrid Weaver, Alice Eaton, and Keith Talyor.  She later began studying voice under the instruction of Christian Crocker, Martha Brouse, and Christopher Puckett.  In 2018, she studied guitar with James Cavender, and in 2019 she studied percussion with Deborah Loach.  She has performed with the Huntsville Community Choirs, UAH Chamber and Concert Choirs, UAH Wind Ensemble, UAH Percussion Ensemble, and has directed the UAH Summer Choir. 

 

In her free time, Mikyla loves to learn new repertoire, read classical books, care for her many pets and plants, and spend time with her family.

Rebecca Whited has been fortunate to work in the field of music for most of her life.  She began teaching privately while in High School and has never stopped. 

Growing up in Glen Arm, Maryland, Rebecca had the privilege of hearing a variety of musical styles and interpretations from a very early age. She is a graduate of Towson State University, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, and The Robert E Webber Institute for Worship Studies. Her organ instructors include Donald Sutherland, Dr. Don Hustad, and Dr. Robert E. Hopkins.

She has taught in both public schools and private schools.  Dr Whited has been on the faculty of several Higher Education Institutions including The University of Alabama in Huntsville.  She continues her private studio while serving both Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Airport Rd, and St Joseph’s Catholic Church. 

 

Rebecca comes to St George Academy with her grandson.
